Dear Minister
RE: Invest in arts funding in Northern Ireland
I am writing to you from my local theatre venue, where I am enjoying this year’s Christmas production.
It is important to me that we are able to enjoy affordable, live events in our local area – so that we can have a great time out, see something new and have a memorable, shared experience with friends and family.
I know that our arts venues are subsidized by Arts Council NI and the local councils.  I have heard that they funding has been cut here year after year and that Arts Council NI gets much less investment in arts than in the Arts Councils of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.  I think that is wrong, especially when the funding needed to bring us up to more reasonable levels is so little in comparison to other equally important spending areas.  Especially when you consider what art participation brings to the community health, education, jobs, exports and local economy.  
I hope that you will provide the funding so that we can have proper investment in arts here.
